Book of Tears

BOOK OF TEARS ©2007 Edition of 2

Inspired by 100 Tears, a project about crying and human tears. The 13.5"x 5.5"x 6" box holds three 11.5"x 4" accordion style books
with tie closures. The books are presented as a drama, tragedy, and an appeal in the form of multiple words that essentially point to
emotive stances that potentially can produce an action. Can the drama of desire link to the acknowledgement of the tragedy we
subversively play a role in and open the door for human evolution?

Book 1 is made with cutout words from two textured sheets, sandwiched between is tissue for light to pass through.
Book 2 is made of newspaper advertisements from the early 1800s and stenciled with black ink and clearly shows not much has changed.
Book 3 is made of vellum with lightly printed words. The gossomer of the weightlessness we experience when we let go.
